For seven years, The Education Foundation of Baltimore County Public Schools, Inc. has offered schools the opportunity to apply for up to $2,000 to support instructional projects each school year. In recognition and support of The Education Foundation’s efforts to enhance learning experiences, Hot Spots Extended Care Programs presented $30,000 to sponsor the new 21st Century Enrichment Grants to extend learning outside of the traditional classroom and encourage community collaboration. A total of 10 elementary schools will be awarded a $3,000 grant.

Lyons Mill Elementary Schools Culture and Diversity Day

Hot Spots Extended Care Programs will demonstrate how a 21st Century Enrichment Grant can be utilized during the 2016-2017 school year at their event. A current HSECP partner, Lyons Mill Elementary School, will enjoy an enrichment experience focused on culture and diversity. Students have the chance to engage through interactive assemblies featuring Young Audiences of Maryland and cultural enrichment break out sessions lead by HSECP educators. Teachers and parents are encouraged to participate by utilizing the cultural lessons, provided by HSECP to extend the learning beyond the traditional classroom and assembly experience. Attend the community enrichment experience and learn more about becoming a grant recipient!

The event will occur at Lyons Mill Elementary School on Thursday, June 2, 2016 from 9AM-2PM.
