Kindness matters, which is why our programs decided to focus their February philanthropic initiative on connecting with a local charity called Simple Sacrifice. 150 students spent March and February putting thoughtful detail into their philanthropic outreach initatives, from decorating lunch bags with their own artwork to writing friendly notes. On the last day of the club students made 200 sandwiches and filled each lunch bag with a variety of different foods and care products that were collected over the term of the project. Program Directors and Assistant Directors from each program then met with the founders of Simple Sacrifice on Sunday, March 19, and distributed these handcrafted bag lunches to homeless men and women at Shot Tower Park in Baltimore.
